sunsets with kara

Tuesday evening I was at the beach while Tom was surfing and I all I could think about was KARA. I felt her everywhere and I saw her everywhere. I wrote her name in the sand and I smiled because it was such a warm and beautiful night in San Francisco and I knew she was there enjoying the sunset. During our junior spring, Vanessa, Kara, Sophie and I travelled by Eurorail across Europe. One of the last nights on the trip Vanessa, Kara and I sat outside on a rock jetty on the northern Italian coast. We sipped red wine and had many laughs about the trip. The sun seemed to sink low for hours and in my mind it sits suspended over the Mediterranean Sea while we talked and talked until it got dark. It was an incredible trip and I feel so blessed to have experienced that with kara. She still is such a force in my life- and she gives me so much strength.
