Christmas Eve 2001

Last year I received a Christmas card from Kara. I had moved to San Francisco in May and was feeling very far from home and our Trinity friends over the holidays. Each piece of mail I received was an excitement. When I checked the mail one rainy night after work I saw that Kara had sent me a Christmas card. It was a small and simple card with an angel on the front. Under the Christmas greeting Kara wrote me a note and the following sentence, "Our friendship is so great it spans the country!" I loved that part of the card, it was so true- even though I had moved to San Francisco, our friendship hadn't changed. Despite the distance between us I knew I had a true friend in Kara. I have kept this card and have looked at it several times over the past weeks. Even though there is no new card from her this year, this one says so much and makes me smile. I will carry it with me always. Her love and friendship is so great that it still exists today. It now reaches even further, between Heaven and Earth. The Hood family; I am thinking of you today, as I do each day. I hope you find strength in each other over the holidays. Love always, Christina
