Day of Karing

Thanks for your email, Bob. I took some time this morning to revisit a memorial I had put in Chittenango Falls State Park ten years ago when I learned of Kara's death (hard to believe it\'s been that long)....it's just a simple cross (this is probably the third or fourth cross I've put at the site) I made out of broken branches and tied together with wild grapevines. I have not checked on it for a couple of years due to my housing situation. Prior to that I checked it regularly....whenever I hiked, ran, skied, or snowshoed (which was often)...I would stop at the cross and say a prayer for Kara and those she left behind...particularly you and Jean and her siblings and their kids.rn Since I hadn\'t checked it in a long time I expected it to be gone.....It was still there and in the same condition as the last time I checked it!! I made a new one and replaced the old one...saving the old one as a backup for sometime in the future.rn It was cold this am...about 20 degrees and some pretty good wind chill going on and lightly snowing, when I snowshoed to the site. But once I got there (it\'s down in a little draw where a little creek crosses the upper meadow trail near Rathbun Road) it was quite comfortable while I did my work. It took me about an hour to hike in, clear some brush, and make the new cross. I left and shoed out around the small upper loop of the meadow trail....the snowfall increasing with every step....I packed up my stuff loaded up the dogs in the truck in a mini blizzard....A great morning in the Creation thinking of you guys and Kara....God Bless....John
