Hood Family Reunion | |
Hood Family Reunions have always been a gathering of the family, food, talks, the lake, waterskiing, cards, and QT. Kara always played a big part in my reunion as she and I would often share a room as the cousins or aunts and uncles came into our rooms. Some nights we would sleep out on the dock with Kathy or Tom, but Kara was always the first one to go in in the morning, the moment she felt dew on her sleeping bag. Kara and I would play with Austin and Sebastian in the water or in the backyard. Kara would always take her turn at waterskiing and wakeboarding. She would get frustrated with me as I criticized her boat driving skills when it was really just that I couldn't get up on the wakeboard but of course I had to blame my sister. I actually got up on the wakeboard this year, but she didn't get to see me. Instead I had Austin and Chris there to criticize my lack of "air" over the wake. Kara would have been proud to see me try though. She would have been proud to see Austin go in and out of the wake, and proud to see Sebastian try waterskiing too. She would have had fun hanging out with Brittany and Karalyn. We missed you Kara, as we always do. I especially missed you though, and our family reunion secrets on the deck of the boathouse... | |
