As usual Kara…it’s a beautiful day on your birthday. The streets of New York were filled today. Everyone seemed to be coming out of hibernation. 'Wakey-wakey' for some cakey. Today’s a day almost like your 22nd birthday, which has remained the most fun day of my 27 years and one month on this earth. What would we have done today to celebrate? Could we have topped that day - a day filled with more laughter than any I’ve probably had since - a beach all to our own - sun so strong that we forgot what it ever felt like to be cold? Oh me 'of little faith'. Of course we could! 'Com’on Nessa' I can hear you say as we embarked upon whatever it was that today had in store for us – which was always the essence of your birthday, pure spontaneity. Your dad has suggested over the last few years that I should write to you. I’m realizing now that fathers do know best. Even though I feel as if I talk to you, think of you, and remember you throughout each and every day - I should have written sooner. I look for you everyday. Not only from the backseat of a cab on your birthday. As the days pass I realize how immensely I will forever miss you. But the days have also taught me that I do still see you – in faces in the crowd, in the sun, in the stars, in friends, in strangers, in your FAMily. I listen for you always and long to hear your voice, your “so Kara” sayings, your wisdom, your questions, your laughter. Thanks for all of your birthdays that I was able to spend with you. They were some of the best days of my life. A 'blast'. Cividiamobella.
