three years

i can still only speak in organizing terms, which i guess is how you know it's me. it's election year again. how could i forget that one day we were coming back to the office from our favorite hot&sour soup place on dean st.- the best in bklyn. we were talking about the state of affairs of what would happen if Bush actually got elected - a disaster we thought! and for brief second, you stopped me and said, "I will LEAVE the U.S. if he gets elected." now the rest of us are here again, three years later, faced with the challenge to get him out (he really din't get elected), and the child in me can't help but fantasize that you'll come back if only we can beat him this time. i guess this is the third year - of checking your website on the 15th, or on your birthday, or just whenever. you're still very much in my heart and mind. yep, still out here, organizing for power. still fighting for the little guy (still us)- while the big guys apparently mastered stealing at a faster pace. i tell you, figuring out how to raise wages, get health care, or get the exact mix of electeds to make either one of those to happen, just isn't the same without you - so many lessons have been learned - so many times i've wanted to share - hopefuly my thoughts have gotten to you and i have. there've been some big wins, met some incredible people, celebrated with some pretty victorious faces, had some setbacks too. it all keeps being worth while. always. i miss you, our friendship, our campaigning together, and our hot&sour soups. love you lots, ericka i miss you lots.
